Before the rain moved in, it was a fairly pleasant afternoon and with all of the blooming that’s happening, our rosemary was swarming with bees. Never wanting to miss a good macro opportunity, I grabbed my camera and headed out. I ended up with a couple shots that looked OK, but my little shadow here was not helping. Once I would lock onto a bee that had landed Grant would promptly bark, startling me and the bee. Thanks buddy!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting the following three pups who seemed to be the best of friends. We spent the afternoon at Green Lake and for anyone who has ever been there, you know that when the sun comes out so do the people. Well, yesterday was no different, it was bustling with activity.

It’s amazing how highly dogs value sticks, just ask Sam.

I’m back dog sitting the adorable Sydney and she was a good sport today letting me, or I guess I should say, putting up with me taking her picture. I was battling some late afternoon sun, but I came away with a handful of nice shots.

“Patiently” waiting for me to throw her ball.

So regal, so elegant, so lady-like.

She looks so sad here, but I assure you, moments before this shot she was bouncing around like mad women.

Allie is a 5 year old Cocker Spaniel – Beagle mix. She’s actually my Mom’s dog and and she’s only a couple months younger than Wes and believe it or not, they’re pretty good friends. For those that know Wes, they are aware that he’s not always fond of other dogs.

Lily

We got Lily as a rescue from the Fort Wayne (Indiana) Humane Society shortly after my wife and I were married. I had grown up with dogs my entire life, but my wife on the other hand did not. I knew we needed a dog and I can honestly say that we were blessed to find Lily. She was the most well behaved dog and to this day, we have no idea how she ended up in the shelter. We lost Lily in November of 2008, but here are a few of my favorite photos taken over the years.

This is one of my all time favorites. This was taken shortly after we got Lily while my wife was a first year medical student. She had a duffel bag full of various parts of a human skeleton and I come out into the living room to find her chewing it on her bed. When you think about it, who could blame her?

Here she is Christmas morning, enjoying a holiday treat. You have no idea how much of a mess that cookie made.

Wes is a curious 5 year old Yorkiepoo with a great taste in coffee and a side of Yorkie attitude.

He’s also our dog, so you will see him from time to time on the blog.

Grant is the sweetest 18 month old Goldendoodle you will ever meet. He gets in his fair share of trouble, but look at that face, how could you get mad at him? He’s also one of our dogs, so you’ll definitely see his picture every now and then.

Jake is a loyal, spry 13 year old black lab. I only wish our dogs were as well behaved as he is.
