We got Lily as a rescue from the Fort Wayne (Indiana) Humane Society shortly after my wife and I were married. I had grown up with dogs my entire life, but my wife on the other hand did not. I knew we needed a dog and I can honestly say that we were blessed to find Lily. She was the most well behaved dog and to this day, we have no idea how she ended up in the shelter. We lost Lily in November of 2008, but here are a few of my favorite photos taken over the years.

This is one of my all time favorites. This was taken shortly after we got Lily while my wife was a first year medical student. She had a duffel bag full of various parts of a human skeleton and I come out into the living room to find her chewing it on her bed. When you think about it, who could blame her?

Here she is Christmas morning, enjoying a holiday treat. You have no idea how much of a mess that cookie made.
